GANESH CHATURTHI
This festival is celebrated on the birthday of GOD GANESH and this festival is celebrated in AUGEST OR SEPTEMBER(i.e on forth day of BADHRA).


Holi
The festival is celebrated after the full moon in the month of March.On this day people play with colours and they apply to all the know peole.People of mumbai have great fun and entertainment on this occasion.


DIWALI
This festival is celebrated after 29 days of DUSSERA.Godess Lakshmi, the symbol of wealth and prosparity is worshipped in all the houses of mumbai.Almost all the mumbai people try to paint the houses.The festival speciality is that crackers are blasted and the night will be colourful with full of LIGHTS in the sky.


GUDI PADAVA
This festival is celebrated only in mumbai whihc is stated as the NEW YEAR for the people of MUMBAI.On this occasion people pray to god and wear new clothes and will start the new year with full confidance and hope.


RAKSHA BANDHAN
This festival celebrated on the 15 day of Shravan i.e Shravan means a month in July / August according to Hindu calender). The festival is celebrated popularly for the love of brothers and sisters. As on this special day sisters tie bands called Rakhis on the wrists of their brothers to protect them from the evil.


JANMASHTAMI
THis festival is celebrated in Shravan i.e a month in July / August according to Hindu calender.It is celebrated on occasion of re incarnation of Lord Vishnu as Lord Krishna. On this day people of mumbai enjoy a lot playin and braking the pots which are tied some distance high.


DUSSERA
Th festival is celebrated because on this day LORD RAMA kills KING RAVANA (who was evil).So on this day people from mumbai make a effigies of Ravana and burn it.So people celebrate it with great joy and wear new clothes and will be happy.
