A Mumbai based company, Stemade Biotech in collaboration with a French institute will set up a bank for dental stem cells which will be used for various therapeutic applications. This type of bank for dental stem cells would be first time in India.
Dental pulp is living tissue inside teeth and stem cells are found inside dental pulp. This dental stem cells will be preserved under special condition. Source of stem cells would be the primary teeth -milk teeth and wisdom teeth.
